The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating their second fatal shooting death this month.
Around 10:15pm Saturday, deputies responded to Sleepy Creek Road in the Dudley community following a report of shots being fired. Officers said they found Cesar Vasquez Luna, 47, dead at the scene. A second person, Alfred Garcias, 25, was suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital.
Authorities said both victims lived on Sleepy Creek Road.
No additional details have been released.
On January 2nd, the body of 43 year-old Arnette Marshburn of Mt. Olive was found beside her car in the 3500 block of US Highway 117 Alternate near Dudley. She was rushed to Wayne Memorial Hospital but later died. Photos by John Payne
