Johnston County Commissioners have awarded nearly $1 million in funds for a sewer rehabilitation project.
Three bids were received for the project. On Monday, commissioners awarded Instituform Technologies LLL of Chesterfield, MO a bid for $999,377.60. The next lowest bidder was $1,215,564.90.
Chandra Coats, Director of the Johnston County Public Utilities Department said the project includes cleaning and video camera inspection of all piping, manhole repairs or replacement, structural repairs, and sealing cracking and lining if necessary for the Buffalo Road Interceptor, Brightleaf Boulevard Interceptor and Holt Lake Interceptor.
The project includes sewer mains on Buffalo Road from Booker Dairy Road to Buffalo Creek, US301 (Brightleaf Boulevard) from Galilee Road to the Neuse River, and Thunder Road near Four Oaks to the county’s wastewater pump station behind the NC Highway Patrol Station on US301.
