SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Department of Social Services celebrated the graduation of 11 families from the Trauma Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence- Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting (TIPS-MAPP) training program last week.
TIPS- MAPP training is a 10-week preparation and selection program for prospective foster and adoptive parents. Each component of the training is designed to equip participants with essential skills that promote the safety, well-being, and permanence of foster children.
During the graduation ceremony, the families were joined by the licensing staff of the Johnston County Department of Social Services, including Supervisor Amy Keith, Social Workers Tabitha Bannerman, Angela Wolbert, Jennifer Gaddis, and their trainer, Judy Brinkley. The dedicated staff members helped guide participants throughout the training to ensure they are well-prepared to provide safe and loving homes for children in Johnston County.
