The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office says two overnight drive by shootings could possibly be connected.
At 10:56pm Tuesday, deputies were responding to a call shots had been fired into a dwelling in the 200 block of Kathleen Terrance, Sanford. Before they arrived they were flagged down by a passing vehicle that was transporting a 14 year-old to the hospital that had been shot. EMS was called and took the juvenile to Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville.
At 12:08am Wednesday, deputies responded to a second shooting into an occupied dwelling. This shooting occurred in the 4200 block of McNeill Road, Sanford. There were no injuries.
Sanford Police were able to locate a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle used in the first shooting and took three people into custody. They are being held in the Lee County Detention Center on unrelated charges. Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats said detectives are currently investigating a possible connection between the suspects and the two shootings.
