SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is looking for suspects who broke into a Smithfield area lawn care business and stolen $188,181.75 in property. The burglary was discovered at 6:49am Thursday, Nov. 18th at Barefoot Lawn Care Inc. at 2500 Cleveland Road.
The suspects forced open a gate to the business and stole an Isuzu box truck, zero turn mowers, dozens of power tools, chainsaws, trimmers, backpack blowers and edgers. The stolen truck, valued at $70,000, was recovered but the tools and equipment, valued at more than $118,000, remain missing.
The business posted on their social media page a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of those responsible.
