19 Year-Old Arrested For Filing False Report, JCSO Says

BENSON – A Johnston County man who recently reported his truck stolen is facing criminal charges. Wyatt James Parker, 19, of Phyllis Drive, Benson was arrested October 25 and charged with making false report to police.

On October 18, Parker reportedly notified the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup had been stolen from an address on Creekstone Drive near Benson.

A sheriff’s detective was assigned to investigate the theft. During the investigation, the detective reportedly determined the pickup had been involved in a prior accident in Harnett County just before Parker filed the false report.

Parker was released on a $250 bond.
