High School Students Involved In Large Fight At Johnston County Bojangles
PRINCETON – Princeton Police are investigating a large affray involving more than a dozen local high school students.

The incident was reported at 8:36pm Wednesday in the parking lot of Bojangles at 502 N. Pearl Street.
Princeton Police Chief Michael Smiley said two students initially began fighting due to a verbal disagreement over a pickup truck. Altogether, approximately 14 teenagers, all from Princeton High, engaged in the affray before it was broken up by law enforcement officers.

The incident also involved chairs being thrown inside the restaurant.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Princeton Police, and the State Highway Patrol responded with officers to restore order.

Thursday morning, Chief Smiley said no charges had been filed but the incident still remains under investigation. Due to the ages of those involved, any charges that are filed will be through juvenile petitions, he said.
No serious injuries were reported.

All over a truck.
It was over a truck
It was probably squatted, too.
Start holding the parents legally responsible for their minor children, and see how quickly this behavior ends.
I agree with you 100%. This is BS behavior, and it comes from parents that do not care. Well, if they were held responsible then they would start caring.
The parents don’t care. I’m sure they are a problem to law enforcement also.
Maybe you shouldn’t speak on things you DON’T know. I am glad you are retired because I would hate to have you as a deputy with that attitude. I see so many comments on here of people who don’t know what happened. Making assumptions. You know what that does lol
Well if we don’t know what happened maybe you should direct your disdain towards Jocoreport. Do you think they are intentionally withholding information? The report is clear. Multiple, identified people, were fighting at a bojangles. Nothing was done. Is it any wonder why we have so many people breaking the law thinking as if they won’t be held accountable countable. Society teaches them this when they are young and they grow to believe it won’t happen when they are older. When people make excuses, rationalize or justify illegal and violent behavior it only creates more. Congrats, you are part of the problem.
I know what happened. Thus is why I commented lol YOU are part of the problem so CONGRATS to you! LMAO
😳
No charges filed. I guess they learned a lesson. No consequences for their actions. All 14 should have been arrested and jailed until their parents could come and bail them out.
Sounds like the incident is still under investigation and that any charges stemming from the incident will be filed through juvenile petitions. Nonetheless – a stupid fight. Not the first stupid fight nor the last stupid fight!
The law prevents anyone under 18 from being arrested. They can be charged under the Juvenile Justice system but they dont do anything besdie offer them counseling or something. Unless they are tried as an adult like if they murder or rape someone.
Pretty sure that In NC, a 16-17 yr old can be arrested and taken to jail. You might want to look that one up.
negative. The law changed, now anyone under 18 years of age must be charged through the Juvenile Justice system.
Parents raised those children or maybe they didn’t.
Had me worried. I was thinking Bojangles was out of honey mustard and ranch again 😩
LOL! Best comment yet! Especially if you have experienced the sadness that comes when the employee says, “We’re out of Honey Mustard”.
******* ******* will have to grow up and his Daddy too. ********’s are bad apples in a decent town.
Dem’ cheddar Bo’s are good Bo…
Good ole rumble
Glad no one was hurt and no weapons were used
No charges filed? Then there was no crime. Not worth reporting. The owner/operator should trespass those students and their parents.
They better be glad I won’t in there eating!!! If they’d messed up my fried chicken meal, I wouldn’t have ask’em how old they were!!!
Princeton high school has gone downhill since the sheriff’s office no longer has an SRO in the school. Princeton PD now does it and they don’t charge any students for anything. So basically when they fight, they get a 10 day vacation and that’s it. When my son went there, he got in a fight, got charged with Affray and had to do community service…
That is correct. A dog with no teeth cant bite. Until they are held accountable by LE the issues at the school will continue to get worse as it has all year!
If it would have been in Selma someone was going to jail
You have to be 18. Even in Selma. Now if they start shooting, ( which is a realistic possibility in Selma) then they can be tried as adult.
The law did change a few years ago. You won’t be charged if you are under 18 unless you are charged as an adult.
There was a time that kids could actually fight it out and work it out. Those days have long passed. I don’t agree with violence but young boys have a lot of hormones and sometimes need a learning curve. I’m not saying its right but its the truth! Kinda dumb for it to be over a truck. It’s usually over a girl….lol However, a truck probably does make more sense. Girls come and go….lol
Interesting…..I didn’t read in the report that they were all males. Sexist much?
Amen to that last comment!! However most trucks are a boys “Girl”!!! Lol
The law enforcement should have just let them fight it out bit when they went started damaging propert diffent story. Should be reprimanded i agree.
This what happens when they give you 3 supremes instead of 4.
People should be able to go out to eat without having angry/ aggressive people act up in restaurant. I agree with the retired JOCO Sheriff, start charging the parents bc that is probably where they get their attitude & behaviors from & at some point one needs to learn how to act or there will be consequences for those actions
The incident also involved chairs being thrown inside the restaurant.???
That’s not true
