One person died Wednesday night in a farm tractor accident. The fatal accident was reported at 9:30pm in the 1600 block of Norrington Road near Autry Road outside of Lillington.
The NC Highway Patrol said a farm tractor driven by Edward Madison Parker, 22, was backing east onto a private dirt road when the tractor made a sharp right turn and the back of the tractor fell into a ditch. The tractor overturned in the ditch ejecting Parker. The tractor then came to rest upside down on top of the driver. Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said alcohol did not play a factor. The accident still remains under investigation.
