SELMA – Three kilos of cocaine, with a potential street value of $100,000, was seized by authorities after it was mailed to a Johnston County address.
Tyler Clayshon Adams, age 31, of Kelly Road, Kinston, NC was arrested January 13, 2023 and charged with four counts of trafficking cocaine, and single counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.
Investigators with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office allege Adams mailed the package himself from California, to the address of an acquaintance on Old Beulah Road near Selma. After the package, containing 6.6 pounds of cocaine, arrived at the Selma address, Adams reportedly went to pick it up and was arrested.
Adams was held under a $2 million bond at the Johnston County Jail.

True he got caught and rightly so. Criminals use this means of transportation every day. He’s not the only individual to attempt this. The postal service, FedEx, Ups and all the other carriers move contraband unknowly every day by this method. They transport hundreds of thousands of packages in a days time. They can’t screen them all. Notice the carrier wasn’t named. Suspect probably got greedy and shipped too much at once. For every criminal caught many get away with the same crime.
