4 Police Officers Take Oath In Smithfield

SMITHFIELD – Mayor Andy Moore administered the Oath of Office to four new Smithfield police officers, Tuesday Feb. 4.

Mayor Moore and the town council welcomed Officers Michael Blackman, Ian Landon, Shahzeb Hameed, and Glendale Daniels.

Police Chief Pete Hedrick said the department has worked hard to fill a number of vacancies. The police department has 43 sworn members. The agency has 41 of the positions currently filled.

  1. We do not say it enough…thank you for protecting us and working to carve out the Cancer(s) before they destroy our community. We know you are working hard to make it safe to live and shop in the Town of Smithfield. Be safe out there.

  2. Now remember that path and quit violating citizens constitutional rights. Smithfield police are the worst in my book. It’s funny they point out the oath they take to uphold the constitution that the police training teaches them to violate.
