Nearly three pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of $40,000 was seized from a location in rural Sampson County on Wednesday.
The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the Fayetteville Police Department, executed a search warrant on Sampson Acres Lane outside of Clayton. During the search, 2.8 pounds of crystal meth was located in an “electronic device” on the property.
The occupants of the residence, Fransisco Lopez, 56, and Claudia Rendon, 28, were taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine.
Lopez was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under a $400,000 bond. Rendon was jailed under a $300,000 bond. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court on the felony charges on September 9th.
