5 Injured, 1 Critically After Boom Lift Crashes Into Cars

PRINCETON – Westbound lanes of US Highway 70 near Princeton have reopened following a serious accident just before Noon today (Tuesday).

A small boom lift in tow behind an eastbound pickup truck reportedly detached from the truck, traveled across the median and into the westbound lanes, crashing into two oncoming cars.

A total of five people in the two cars suffered injuries. A passenger in one vehicle was rushed to Wake Med with critical injuries.

Westbound lanes of US 70 were closed for about an hour while the accident was investigated by the State Highway Patrol.
