  1. Praying for the families! Those semi truck drivers need to pay attention! Lives taken because of carelessness!

  2. Work/construction zone again. When will it ever stop? I hope the ncdot sleeps well knowing how many deaths have occured under their watch. Time to ban construction zones, tractor trailers, cars, etc. That seems to be the prevailing logic.

    • Ditto. I can remember a time when I95 was two lanes and no Jersey barriers, wide open medians and shoulders….and a lot less people were killed. Shoot, traffic wasn’t even bad. What you got a few years back was a bunch of degree toting engineers that wanted to call the highway system obsolete or outdated. Seemed to be working fine from what I saw. On top of that it’s 4 way stops and roundabouts. Solutions looking for a problem is DOT’s greatest job skill.

  3. Sad that we don’t live in a time where they could put up a transponder at a construction site that would make vehicles slow automatically to a safe speed once in range of it. I know people would say somehow that’s a violation of their rights but slowing your vehicle seems to be a real problem for people nowadays. I was on highway 70 the other day and everyone was flying past me at 70+ mph sadly with a trooper leading the pack.

  4. You need to have road construction. Our roads need it bad, but the thing is, on interstates the work should be on weekday nights like required in many states. This accident is a horror and could have and should have been prevented. I do pray for all the family’s involved.
