SMITHFIELD – Three people were injured following a collision Tuesday around 11:45am between a tractor trailer and car. The wreck was reported on Brogden Road at the northbound entrance to Interstate 95.
According to an eyewitness, the tractor trailer was traveling eastbound on Brogden Road and was attempting to make a left turn onto the entrance ramp. The semi reportedly pulled into the path of the car, which was traveling westbound on Brogden Road towards Smithfield. The vehicles collided head on.
Two people in the car and the driver of the tractor trailer were injured.
The accident shut down Brogden Road for about two hours.
Smithfield Police assisted with the traffic detour. The State Highway Patrol is investigated.
