AK-47, Beer Found In Car After Chase With Juvenile, JCSO Says
JOHNSTON COUNTY – A 17-year-old juvenile is facing multiple charges after leading deputies on a high-speed chase early Saturday morning in the Cleveland community.
Around 1:12 a.m., Johnston County SAFE Team deputies spotted a pickup truck and a red Cadillac speeding on I-40. One deputy stopped the truck, while another attempted to stop the Cadillac, which was reportedly traveling at 99 mph in a 65 mph zone.
The Cadillac initially pulled over, but as the deputy approached, the driver sped off, exited onto Cleveland Road, then reentered I-40. The pursuit ended shortly afterward when the driver stopped.
Deputies detained the juvenile and reportedly discovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and a 24-pack of beer inside the vehicle.
The driver, being underage, will face charges in juvenile court.
The Cadillac was seized.
No injuries were reported.

Johnston Co. DA / ADA will dismiss the charges.
sad to say, you are probably correct. Joco is falling right into the rest of these insane towns/cities and who we elect is playing a tremendous part in that!
Must have been tell the truths kid.
My kids don’t drive a Caddy. #stickShiftOnly
What happened to the pick up? I’m guessing he was a good law abiding citizen by stopping his/her vehicle and getting a ticket without incident. See how that works kids, respect the police lights, don’t have drugs or illegal weapons and you don’t get thrown in jail.
Punishment SHOULD fit the crime NOT the age !
I agree 100%
A young Caucasian MAGA, I’m sure. That explains why many on here anticipate the DA will drop the charges and give the Caddy back to his Daddy.
I am not sure if the individual is white or black and that does not really matter to me. But I do know that the Johnston Co. DA’S office will dismiss charges or lower the charge to a different crime from past experience in the court room, just to avoid a trial.
If he does get released with a fine and a slap on the wrist, it will show everyone that justice in Johnston County has gone liberal. I agree with Believer, punishment should fit the crime and not the age!
