A federal grand jury in Raleigh had returned an indictment against a convicted felon from Mexico charging him will Illegal Reentry of a Deported Alien.
Robert J. Higdon, Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, announced the indictment against Jose Partida-Coyt, 51, of Mexico. Officials said Partida-Coyt had previously been convicted of felony identity theft and deported. He was found recently in Johnston County.
If convicted, Partida-Coyt could face a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and a term of supervised released following any term of imprisonment.
ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations is investigating the case.
