JOHNSTON COUNTY – An Amazon delivery van and a pickup truck collided nearly head-on on Lake Wendell Road in northern Johnston County just as the van was turning into a driveway,
Both drivers and an 8-year old child in the pickup truck suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals.
Neighbors quickly ran to the rescue of the victims and provided aid before rescuers arrived from Northside Fire and Johnston County EMS.
A second Amazon van was dispatched to take over the route and ensure all deliveries were made.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the 2:00pm Saturday accident.
