BENSON – The State Highway Patrol continues to investigate a fatal two vehicle accident in the Meadow community in southern Johnston County. The collision was reported at 6:56pm Monday in the 11100 block of NC Highway 50 South near Eldridge Road.
Troopers said an Amazon delivery van was backing out of a residential driveway and failed to yield to an oncoming white Hyundai Accent passenger car traveling south on Highway 50.
The driver of the Hyundai, Debra Cameron Dickens, died at the scene. The driver of the Amazon van, Erik Taylor Fain, was evaluated at the scene by EMS.
The Highway Patrol said speed, alcohol, and drugs are not contributing factors.

I’m sure there will be more of this happening as Amazon hires & fires drivers like crazy. Let’s not forget the UPS & Fedex trucks who just stop in the middle of the road rather it’s safe or not, so they do not have to pull into the driveway. Prayers to the family.
