County commissioners have approved a request from the Archer Lodge Fire Department for a tax exempt loan up to $200,000.
The department will borrow the funds to pay for a portion of the cost of a 2021 Kenworth tanker.
The department solicited bids from Civic Federal Credit Union, First Citizens Bank, KS Bank and United Community Bank. KS Bank submitted the lowest bid at 1.57 percent interest for seven years. KS Bank was approved for the loan. The credit union did not respond to the bid request.
