ANGIER – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a weekend armed robbery. The incident was reported Saturday, March 18th around 7:00pm at a home on Pleasant Court of Clayton Road outside of Angier, in western Johnston County.
The 40 year-old victim told authorities she answered a knock on her door and was confronted by an unknown male asking if a particular person was at the address. The suspect produced a gun and forced his way inside. The victim was forced to lie face down on the floor.
Two additional suspects appeared. One of the three robbers approached a small child sitting at the kitchen table. He placed the child on the floor beside the woman. The adult and infant were then ordered to the bedroom and were told to lie on the floor once again.
The suspects took the keys to a home safe and stole two handguns from the safe. They also took the woman’s iPhone preventing her from immediately dialing for help once they fled.
The woman and child were not physically injured. No additional information about the robbery has been released.
