ANGIER – A Four Oaks man is in custody after being linked to a shooting last year in the McGee’s Crossroads community. On October 11, 2022, Johnston County deputies responded to a home in the 10000 block of NC Highway 50 North, Angier.
Officers found 24 year-old Colby Hargis of Angier suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand.
Following an investigation, Mondarus Jamar Harris, age 30, of the 500 block of Boyette Road, Four Oaks was developed as a suspect. Warrants were later obtained for his arrest.
On August 19, Harris was located during a traffic stop and taken into custody on the warrants charging him with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was served with two failure to appear warrants for 2021 offenses of driving while impaired and failure to maintain lane control.
Harris was given a total secured bond of $410,000 on the four warrants and confined in the Johnston County Detention Center.
