Arrests Made In Attempted Johnston County Burglary

CLAYTON – Johnston County deputies arrested two suspects they say are responsible for an attempted early morning break-in.

Tavonte Deshaun Lawrence, age 25, and Zion Rogers, age 22, both of Raleigh are charged with attempted first-degree burglary and resisting a public officer.

Around 5:20am Thursday, deputies responded to a 911 call from a 50 year-old female resident on Stornoway Lane, off NC Highway 42 East.

The victim reported being awakened by her door bell ringing, then saw someone attempting to turn the front door knob. The suspects then went to her back door and attempted to turn the door knob. Fortunately, both doors were locked. The victim yelled to the suspects that she was calling law enforcement.

Deputies arrested and reportedly located Lawrence and Rogers walking near the victim’s home. When they saw deputies they fled on foot. Both were captured.

Authorities said the victim did not know the suspects and the attempted burglary appears to be a random act.

Both suspects were confined in the Johnston County Jail in lieu of $60,000 secured bonds.

  1. Too bad Mr. Glock did not greet them at the door. They would not have gone to jail and would have never had to Burglarize again plus all the money that Mr. Glock would have saved the taxpayers.

  2. Just two scholars seeing if they could cut her grass or clean the house of any valuables. They have bright futures.
