Assisting Living Facility Employee Accused Of Stealing Medication

FOUR OAKS – An employee at a Johnston County assisting living center has been arrested. Antione Cordaire Allen of Fayetteville was arrested December 20 and charged with felony larceny by an employee and felony possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver a schedule four controlled substance.

On December 6, a representative at Oakview Commons Assisted Living on Boyette Road in Four Oaks reported the incident. Johnston County sheriff’s detectives allegedly determined Allen had stolen 50 syringes containing liquid Loprazolam, also known as Ativan.

According to an online search, Loprazolam is a benzodiazepine medication used to treat anxiety disorders, seizures, and alcohol withdrawal.

We reached out last week to Oakview Commons for a comment. So far, no one has responded to our request for additional information.

The 33 year-old suspect was given a $40,000 unsecured bond on felony charges.

Additionally, Allen was served with three failure to appear warrants on 2021 charges for injury to property, no operator’s license, and failure to maintain lane control. He was given a $2,000 secured bond for those offenses.

(Editor’s Note: Arrest warrant information states Allen worked for Oakview Commons Assisted Living at 565 Boyette Road, Four Oaks, NC. An online search indicates Oakview Commons at 565 Boyette Road has closed, and Four Oaks Senior Living is now in business at the same address. We reached out to Four Oaks Senior Living for a comment and clarification but as of the publication of this article, no one has responded.)
