Deputies are investigating an attempted home invasion near Four Oaks. Around 11:00pm Thursday, a 20 year-old man was watching TV at his residence in the 5000 block of NC96 South near Blackman’s Crossroads, when he heard a noise outside his home. When he went to investigate he saw a man wearing a black sweatshirt running across his yard carrying a car battery. The suspect dropped the battery but continued running.
Sheriff’s deputies canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Officers did discover where someone had attempted to pry open the back door to the victim’s home.
