BENSON – Authorities are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a 52 year-old woman. It happened around 1:00am Saturday in the Food Lion parking lot at 12320 NC Highway 210, near Interstate 40.
The victim, who is from Henderson, NC, said she driving home and somehow got lost. She pulled over and stopped momentarily in the grocery store parking lot.
She claims two unknown males approached her vehicle and tried to rob her. A handgun was reported displayed.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. The victim was not harmed. A description of the suspects was not immediately available.
