A 23 month-old baby was struck and fatally injured by a car this morning (Tuesday) in the driveway of a home.
Emergency crews responded to a 911 call placed at 11:28am from a residence on Highway 55 near Coats. They found the young girl, Jada Jones, had been struck by a vehicle driven by an adult family member.
Jones was rushed to Central Harnett Hospital but was pronounce dead about an hour later.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating the death but there is no indication of the incident being anything other than a tragic accident.
