Four Oaks Bank, soon to become United Community Bank, has announced that Waylon Dale Barefoot has accepted a position on the Local Advisory Board for the Bank’s Benson Office.
Mr. Barefoot is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy. He owns and operates WD Barefoot Farms, LLC in Benson and is also co-owner of Get Wet Marine Inc. located in Colfax, North Carolina.
“I am pleased to welcome Waylon to the Benson Advisory Board,” said Senior Vice President and Benson City Executive John Wood. “His experience running a successful farming operation and marine business, along with his entrepreneurial spirit will be an important asset to our local Board,” said Wood.
A Benson native, Mr. Barefoot serves on the Board of Directors of the Meadow Athletic Association and he is the Sunday School Superintendent at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church.
Mr. Barefoot, his wife Courtney and their children Garrett and Graycen reside in Benson.

As previously announced, Four Oaks Bank will merge with Georgia-based United Community Bank, with system conversions and a visible name change scheduled for April 2018.
