Barn Destroyed In Fire; Cause Under Investigation

KENLY – Officials are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a barn Tuesday evening in northern Johnston County.

The fire was reported in the 400 block of Old Route 22 Road, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple fire departments responded, along with the Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office and sheriff’s deputies.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities said the barn and its contents were valued at about $6,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
