Benson Man Faces Felony Charges In ATV Theft Case

BENSON, N.C. — A Benson man is facing felony charges after deputies say he stole two four-wheelers and later sold them to a scrap yard.

According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Anthony Dean Redick, 37, of Golda Road, was arrested April 15 on warrants charging him with larceny and obtaining property by false pretense.

The investigation began March 16 when a 36-year-old resident in the Meadow area reported two ATVs stolen from his property on Godwin Lake Road. Deputies said each ATV was valued at $1,500.

Authorities allege Redick was responsible for the theft and later sold the stolen four-wheelers to a scrap yard.
