Improvements will be made soon in the Wilson’s Mills Water District.
Johnston County Commissioners have signed off a $2,644,758 project designed to help the area with continued growth. The work will also improve water distribution to the western Johnston County area.
Sanford Contractors, Inc. of Sanford was awarded a $2,328,254.70 bid to install 7,500 linear feet of 16 inch water main along Wilson’s Mills Road from the existing water tank in Wilson’s Mills to Gordon Road, plus construction a new 1.5 million gallons per day (MGD) booster station to be located on the same site as the existing elevated water tank.
Five bids were received for the project. Sanford Contractors was the lowest bidder.
Engineering, surveying, permitting, easement preparation and acquisition and loan closing costs will add another $316,503.30 to the cost bringing the project to $2,644.758.
