A birthday party turned violent Saturday afternoon near Clayton. A couple is accused of attacking a neighbor in the driveway of his home punching him repeatedly in the face.
Joseph McKenna Safarian, 21, and his girlfriend, Amber Marie Gay, 21, both of Whispering Pines Court, were charged with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury. The pair is accused of attacking a 57 year-old neighbor, who sustained head injuries from the assault.
The victim told officers Safarian was riding a dirt bike and swerved as if he was going to strike the victim. Gay then allegedly approached the victim in his driveway and began punching him. Safarian then joined the assault, authorities said.
Both Safarian and Gay were jailed under a $40,000 bond each.
The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
