BMW Seized Following US 70 Chase

SMITHFIELD – A 24-year-old Garner man was arrested Nov. 20 following a high-speed chase on US Highway 70 (Market Street) that ended with a seized BMW.
Around 6:57 p.m., Smithfield police attempted to pull over a 2018 BMW for speeding. The driver, later identified as Cliford Junior Leger of Mountain Top Drive, reportedly refused to stop, prompting a brief pursuit.
Officers apprehended Leger near the intersection of US 70 and M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway.
Leger now faces multiple charges, including felony fleeing to elude arrest, reckless driving with wanton disregard, driving on a revoked license, no operators license, speeding, failure to heed light or siren, expired registration, expired inspection, and unsafe lane change.
The vehicle was seized under the state’s Run and Done traffic law.
Leger was released on a $15,000 secured bond.
No injuries were reported during the incident.

He went from a BMW to Pat and Charlie. Let them 10 toes be his ride. Didnt have the right to be on the highway any how..Driving is a privilege. When you lose it, you shouldnt be on the road driving. No insurance. Im glad his driving didnt cause an accident and hurt anyone. Keep him un jail.
