The graduating Class of 2019 will have a new designation on their diplomas.
The Johnston County Board of Education approved a change for students entering 9th grade during the 2015 – 2016 school year and will affect only those receiving an Honors or High Honors diploma. Latin honors will now be bestowed, cum laude, magna cum laude and summa cum laude.
This gives us an opportunity to recognize more students,” said Deputy Superintendent Ross Renfrow.
