UPDATE: The body has identified as Phillip Sauls, 49, of 12549 NC Highway 42 Holly Springs. The cause of death has not been determined and will not before an autopsy has been conducted, authorities said.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the yard of a home on Highway 42 this morning.
Around 9:45am, deputies were requested to do a well-being check at a home at 12549 NC Highway 42 in the Holly Springs community. When they arrived they reportedly found a white male in the rear area of the yard.
The incident is being treated as a homicide.
Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene and Criminal Investigators responded to the scene. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
