The Johnston County Inspections Department issued permits for 178 new single family homes in July, an increase of 56 percent from the 114 permits issues for single family homes in July 2017.
The average value of a new home permitted in July was $169,796.
The department issued 32 permits for townhomes, 4 modular homes, 13 singlewides and 15 permits for doublewide homes. Eight commercial construction permits were also issued last month.
Total permits issued in July 2018 were valued at $59,727.501.14. The inspections department collected $356,316.22 in fees.
In July, county inspectors passed 4,717 inspections and failed 1,381.
