Burglary Investigation Leads To Drug Bust

ANGIER, N.C. — What began as an investigation into a residential break-in ended with the seizure of stolen property, illegal narcotics and a stolen firearm from a Johnston County home, authorities said.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested Henry Brian Weaver, 47, of Holland Road, Angier on July 30 after detectives executed a search warrant at his residence near the Johnston-Harnett county line.

The investigation began four days earlier when a nearby homeowner on Holland Road reported a break-in. While following up on that case, a detective developed information that led investigators to Weaver’s residence. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, a search warrant was obtained.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by the Narcotics Division, searched the home and reportedly recovered property stolen during the burglary, including a stolen firearm.

Investigators also said they seized approximately 52 grams of liquid methamphetamine, 0.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 0.5 grams of fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

Weaver now faces numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, including two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, probation violation, breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen property and injury to personal property.

Court records show Weaver was convicted in September 2025 of felony possession of a controlled substance and served a 44-day jail sentence.
