Burglary Suspect Caught In Bathroom

SMITHFIELD – Johnston County deputies quickly took a burglary suspect into custody. Around 5:30am Monday, officers responded to a 911 call from an address of Juniper Drive, off Swift Creek Road.

Two women were inside the home when an unknown male intruder forced his way inside. Responding officers reported the suspect had locked himself in a bathroom.

Deputies made entry into the bathroom and placed 23 year-old Abdiel Mendoza Altamirano of Forbes Drive, Smithfield in handcuffs. Altamirano was charged with first degree burglary and held under a $100,000 secured bond.

Deputies said the incident appeared to be random. No injuries were reported.

  1. He got what he deserved. They not beat on him. There was also a 7 year old little boy in the home that is the one that called the cops!
