Selma Police and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office are investigating two business break-ins to see if they are connected.
Around 1:40am Monday, deputies and police responded to a burglar alarm at the Johnston County Area Transportation System (JCATS) building at 1050 W. Noble Street. Officers found a window had been broken out to gain entry and a computer monitor valued at $200 was stolen from an office.
Less than 6 hours later, around 7:30am, police discovered a break-in at the Surf and Turf at 115 East Anderson Street in Selma. Fourteen commercial chain saws were stolen from the business. Police said they had previously checked on the building at 4:21am and the business was secure.
