One of the 5 candidates who applied for a vacant seat on the Johnston County Board of Commissioners has withdrawn.
On Friday, former Johnston County Commissioner Tony Braswell of Pine Level notified officials he was removing his name from consideration for the District 6 seat.
“When I left office in November of last year I made the following statement: If God opens any doors for me in the future, I will pursue, if God does not open any doors for me, that will be just fine with me. This may not be the right door for me at this time, however I will focus my time, and energy looking at others doors that may arise in the future,”Braswell said in an email to WTSB News.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support from all parts of the county I received this past week and I thank you for that support.”
Four other people are seeking the seat vacated by Keith Branch. They include: Mark Lee, David Lee Jackson, Darryl Mitchell and Brent Wiggs.
