Car Slams Into Convenience Store
BENSON — A vehicle crashed into the side of a Benson convenience store Wednesday afternoon, injuring one person and forcing the business to close.
The crash happened at Benson Mart, located at 903 E. Main St., when a car plowed into the building. One occupant of the vehicle was taken to a hospital for treatment. No one inside the store was injured, despite the business being open at the time.
The impact caused structural damage, prompting officials to deem the building unsafe. Power to the store was also shut off as a precaution.
Benson police are investigating what caused the crash.
