Car Strikes Guardrail On US 70

WILSON’S MILLS – A motorist was injured in a single vehicle accident on US 70 near Sadisco Road, around 8:00am Friday.

A Volvo passenger car was traveling eastbound when it ran off the roadway, went through a small body of water, then crashed into a guardrail.

Both the guardrail and car sustained significant damage.

The injured driver was transported to the hospital for treatment. Impairment is suspected, authorities said.

The Highway Patrol said a vehicle matching the same description had been reported for erratic driving in Wake County before the accident. The Volvo was not located in Johnston County until it crashed.

Wilson’s Mills Police assisted the Highway Patrol with the accident investigation.

  1. What did the poor guardrail do to this guy that he had to strike it? The poor guardrail was just sitting there. Stupid Impaired driver. Looks like the guardrail put up a good fight 🙂
