CLAYTON – A car that failed to stop at a t-intersection Sunday morning was destroyed after colliding with several large boulders. It happened around 3:30am at the intersection of Lee and Ranch Roads.
Over the years, several cars failed to stop at the intersection and crashed into the yard. The homeowner placed large boulders in his yard for protection. Those boulders stopped a Volkwagen Jetta that struck three of them and ended up entangled in power line guide wires.
The unlicensed teen driver had reportedly taken a family car out for an unauthorized drive. The wreck was discovered around 6:00am. The driver and a passenger escaped without injury.
The State Highway Patrol investigated.
