Car Wash Employee Stole Thousands From Business, Police Say
SMITHFIELD – A former employee at a Smithfield car wash has been arrested on felony charges.
Naseem Octavious Hammond, age 20, of S. Third Street, Smithfield was arrested May 19 and charged with three felony offenses: larceny by an employee, conspiracy, and safecracking.

On May 9, management at American Pride Xpress Car Wash at 1203 N. Brightleaf Boulevard reported the theft.
Smithfield Police allege Hammond gained access to a cash money and stole approximately $6,000.
A warrant was obtained for his arrest, but he was not immediately located. On May 19, police responded to a domestic call where Hammond was involved. Hammond left the scene but was arrested on the outstanding warrant a few minutes later during a traffic stop on Booker Dairy Road.
Hammond was given a $50,000 secured bond.
Police said additional charges have not been ruled out.

Naseem Octavious Hammond… that named was destined for this headline.
Why, why, why can’t some people just do honest work with an honest job. There is no such thing as a quick buck. You will pay the price. You may not like your job, but an honest job brings self-respect.
This guy is a real piece of trash. I’m surprised he had a job to begin with. His usual occupation is theft. Why do these magistrates keep setting bail so low for REPEAT offenders??
