Catalytic Converters, Batteries Stolen During Auto Salvage Break-In
MIDDLESEX — The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at a northern Johnston County auto salvage business where more than $1,500 in vehicle parts were stolen.
Deputies responded Oct. 5 to Johnston Auto Salvage at 6272 N.C. Highway 231.
Investigators said someone cut a hole in a fence to gain access to the property.
Eight catalytic converters, eight vehicle wiring harnesses and five car batteries were reported stolen. The items were valued at $1,544.
The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4 and 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5.
Anyone with information about the break-in, or who saw suspicious activity around the business during that time, is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000. Callers may remain anonymous.
