Charges Dismissed Against Former Clayton High Basketball Coach

CLAYTON, N.C. – All charges have been dismissed against a former Clayton High School basketball coach who was arrested last year in connection with an alleged domestic incident in Wake Forest.

Kenneth Collins, 30, had faced assault, stalking and domestic violence-related charges stemming from a Dec. 20, 2025 incident.

The charges were dismissed Sept. 4 in Wake County court.

According to dismissal paperwork filed by the prosecutor, the alleged victim would not cooperate with the case.

The filing states, “victim will not cooperate,” and also notes, “Multiple failed attempts to contact, multiple left voicemails, victim changed story previously.”

Collins had been accused by Wake Forest police of assaulting a woman with whom he was reportedly in a relationship at the time.

He was serving as the boys’ varsity basketball coach at Clayton High School when the charges were filed. Johnston County Public Schools previously confirmed Collins had worked as a non-faculty coach since August 2024 and was no longer employed by the school system following the incident.
