Detectives have made an arrested in a six month old break-in case and recovered some of the stolen items.
Claudie Allen Barefoot, 37, of McLamb Road was arrested Thursday night. Barefoot is accused of committing a break-in on September 9, 2015 on J. Lee Road, outside of Benson, stealing a riding lawn mower, trailer, chainsaw, amplifier and two lanterns.
During questioning, Barefoot allegedly admitted to Johnston County deputies he committed the break-in and stole the property, claiming he did so because the victim owned him money for a radio.
He was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, and possession of stolen property. All three of the charges are felony offenses. Barefoot was confined in the Johnston County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 secured bond.
