Police say a low-speed chase lasted about a mile before the driver finally stopped at her own home.
Around 1:20 AM Saturday, Smithfield Police attempted to stop a vehicle on West Market Street for a traffic violation. The driver didn’t pull over, police said, until she reached her residence.
Vonda Lynn Daniels, 49, of Old Farm Lane, Smithfield was charged with driving while impaired, speeding, and failure to heed for a blue light and siren. Police obtained a blood sample from Daniels. She was given a $1,500 bond on the misdemeanor charges and ordered to appear in court on May 17th.
