A Johnston County man extradited from Virginia is being held in the county jail under a $1.5 million bond on multiple child sex charges.
66 year-old Harden Junior Viers of Walkers Way, Willow Spring was arrested last week while on vacation in Virginia. Authorities took him into custody until he could be returned to Johnston County to stand trial on 11 criminal charges.
Investigators with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said Viers had been under investigation since July 11th when a report was filed alleging he sexually assaulted two young children ages 8 and 12. Some of the alleged offenses occurred between 2 and 4 years ago.
Viers is charged with incest, rape, statutory sex offense, and taking indecent liberties with a child.
