A Clayton man drowned Saturday while visiting the beach with his family.
Authorities said the victim was with his family at Caswell Beach in Brunswick County when he went into the water around 4:00pm. He was found unconscious a short time later.
Telley Knight, 39, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Authorities said bystanders started CPR on Knight until EMS crews arrived but life saving efforts were not successful.
