The Clayton Police Department has added three new officers to its ranks. Officers Ashton Anderson, Kavon Banks, and Mark Fidler were joined by their families and friends for a swearing-in ceremony held Wednesday, May 5th, at the Clayton Police Department.
“We are fortunate to add these three new officers to our department,” said Police Chief Greg Tart. “As it becomes increasingly difficult for law enforcement agencies to recruit and retain police officers, we have continued to be able to attract very qualified men and women and add them to our staff.”
The three new officers were welcomed to the department by dozens of their fellow officers, Town of Clayton staff, Interim Town Manager Rich Cappola, Clayton Mayor Jody McLeod, Mayor Pro Tem Jason Thompson, and Councilman Michael Grannis.
Mayor McLeod addressed all the attendees and assured the new officers that they are now part of “the finest police department and under the best leadership of any law enforcement agency in this region.”
Chief Tart added, “I feel like these young men as well as all of our officers will continue to represent our department and community well.”
Thank you for your service, gentlemen!
Best wishes to the new Officers. May God be with you at all times and stay strong when you feel week and when you are down look up because you are respected, cared for and most of all loved.
